Domenico Crolla “Portrait Art Pizza”

Domenico Crolla is an Italian pizzaiolo born in Glasgow, United Kingdom with a big passion for art and food. When he decided to combine the two, he created “The Portrait Art Pizza”. 

On February 2013, I received a lovely surprise on Facebook – Domenico Crolla had created a “Portrait Art Pizza” of me! So here I am, among many great celebrities such as Sophia Loren, former president Barack Obama, Frank Sinatra, the legendary Marylyn Monroe, and even Pope Francis, to name just few.

I asked Domenico what inspired him and he said: “I was inspired by the sculptures made with fruits and vegetables so I challenged myself to create something unique with pizza”.

Here a funny coincidence, Domenico wanted to create a Pizza with the iconic FIAT 500, so he use a portrait of a red 500 and only few weeks later he realize that the woman on the window was me. Double the honor for me.
